Plano convex lens spotlights produce an axially symmetrical light with a soft edge. When the light is focused to the most narrow beam the maximum illumination is to be found in the middle of the optical axis. The angle of the cone of light can be adjusted.

Since the cone of light can be adjusted over a wide range and since there is practically no light scatter, plano-convex lens spotlights are used for a short and long distance lighting in the theatre. They are used on auditorium crossbars, turrets, portals crossbars and galleries.

The units are made out of steel with black epoxy powder coating. They can be opened from the top for easy maintenence and replacement of lamps. Together with the mirror the lamp is mounted on a movable slide which is adjusted by means of a spindle. The units are self-cooling which means that fan cooling is unnecessary. There are 2 walls of the housing on the right, left and back side to avoid too high temperature on the surface outside.

There are always three insertion grooves in accordance with DIN 15 560, part 38, to accommodate the accessories; they have locking device to keep the accessories from falling out unintentionally. The units are always supplied with safety net and rotating 4 leaf barndoors.

The housing is mounted on a two-legged bracket with holes for fixing.
